George TuskaArtist George Tuska was born in Manchester, New Jersey, United States on April 26, 1916 and passed away on October 15, 2009 at the age of 93.

His art was influenced in part by artist greats Alex Raymond and Hal Foster.

He was awarded with the Inkpot Award in 1997.

His artist career spans over six decades, working on comic books and comic strips for all major US publishers including Marvel Comics, and DC Comics.

His pencils grace a significant number, more than 1,000 comic books. 

His most significant work includes his penciling of the Iron Man comic book (Marvel) from the late 60s to late 70s, Captain Marvel (for DC) and World's Greatest Superheroes Present Superman comic strip.


His other comics work includes Crime Does Not Pay, Ghost Rider, Luke Cage, Power Man, Sub-Mariner and the X-Men for Marvel and Superman, Superboy and Challengers of the Unknown for DC. 

Vince Colletta often inked his pencils, and they produced some of the best artwork together. 

Tuska retired from active comics in the early 21st century and did commissioned work until his passing. 

His last published comics work is an alternate cover for Masquerade #2 by Dynamite Entertainment.
